Vince began his 45-year career in Building Services Engineering as an Apprentice Electrician at Royal Mail, later becoming a Chartered Engineer through a part-time degree. He served as Director of the London practice at National Design Consultancy for nearly 20 years.

A CIBSE member since 1998, he has mentored engineers and chaired the Membership and Registration Panel for over 12 years. Vince joined the CIBSE Board in 2020 and will become President in June 2025.
