Professor Griffiths holds the chair in Building Physics at Ulster University, bringing over £12m in research income over 30 years.  He has published research on vacuum glazing, latent energy thermal storage systems for heating and cooling and thermal comfort. More recently he has been developing research into the application of the circular economy to building services.  He is a workpackage leader on the COST Action CircularB – Implementing a Circular Economy in the Built Environment.
