Peter is one of the key people behind the Future Homes and Buildings Standards.  He was the government’s senior technical advisor on the initial announcement of the Future Homes Standard in 2019, and since then has led the technical team developing the Future Homes and Buildings Standards.  As Head of Energy and Environmental Standards at MHCLG, Peter also led the department’s work on ventilation, overheating and electric vehicle charging in the Building Regulations.  Peter currently works for the Building Safety Regulator providing independent advice to Government on building regulations and standards.  His team at the BSR are responsible for the oversight and development of all Building Regulations technical guidance and standards relating to energy, indoor environment, access and building services.
