Joe is the chair of CIBSE's Embodied Carbon Sub-Panel, bringing together industry experts to improve knowledge of the embodied carbon impacts of MEP systems. He led the development of the free tool, FCBS CARBON, which keeps whole life carbon part of the early design decision making process and has been downloaded over 7,000 times. He is an industry advocate for low carbon design, and is a core part of industry groups such as LETI and the Net Zero Carbon Building Standard, as well as working extensively with universities to create the next generation of low carbon designers.
