James is an acoustic consultant with 20 years’ experience and is the chairman of the specialist Building Acoustics Group of the Institute of Acoustics. For the last 8 years James has been at the forefront of overheating assessment in the industry and promotes the need for a holistic approach accounting for all indoor environmental qualities within buildings. James has is a co-author of the national guidance document, Acoustics, Ventilation and Overheating and led the committee in producing the ANC/IoA document Guide to Noise Assessment for Approved Document O.
