In this debate we will discuss the trials and challenges that FM's face when they first have to deal with hard services.

Is technology the silver bullet to achieving higher performing buildings in operation, and if so, what does that mean for the building services engineer? Or, is the industry focusing and relying too much on technology to solve all our problems and forgetting the importance of the building services engineer? Are we losing real, hands-on, engineering skills within the industry as the focus moves more to data-led maintenance and is a new skills gap forming? How do we reimagine the relationship between technology, controls and maintenance to achieve, and maintain, building performance? What do we see as the challenges and opportunities.
