Session Outline: This session will take you through the transformative journey of NABERS from its origins in Australia to its promising future in the UK with CIBSE. Discover how NABERS revolutionised the Australian building industry achieving remarkable energy efficiency and sustainability outcomes. It will take you through the efforts taken by stakeholders to identify NABERS as the ideal scheme to meet UK Industry needs for decarbonisation and to minimise the “performance gap”, and to select CIBSE as the ideal administrator for NABERS UK.
It will introduce CIBSE Certification and its services, and ambitious plans to steer the scheme, and how NABERS UK will be integrated in the practical and actionable frameworks to drive sustainability across the UK’s built environment.

Technik and 21 Engineering will be discussing their experiences with NABERS Design to Perform and how to kick-start the NABERS UK rating process for commercial buildings. Several barriers from recently conducted assessments will be exampled, along with how they’ve been overcome to create a sustainable rating process.
